Fishing

Braidhaugh is situated near several popular spots for anglers. Just down the way is the River Earn, famous for its Trout and Salmon fishing. A fishing licence for the Earn can easily be purchased from the park reception during the season which runs from March to October. Also less than ten minutes away is Loch Monzievaird, where Wild Brown and American Brook Trout are waiting to take your bait. The loch is accessed by boat, allowing you to enjoy the ride while catching a bite.

Walking

The River Earn also offers a peaceful stroll along an avenue of mature oak, lime, beech and sweet chestnut trees. Along the banks of the River lies Lady Mary’s Walk, which regardless of season offers a picturesque background; from the clear, crisp and refreshing winter to the colourful, warm and sheltered summer. Crieff also has many other beautiful walks to offer; whether you fancy a flat and gradual stroll or hill-walking expedition, there will be a walk just for you. Golf

Scotland commands a very special place in all golfer’s hearts. Widely recognised as the true ‘home of golf’, the country around Crieff offers a golfing activity to suit everyone; from the humble beginner to the seasoned professional. Muthill Golf Club offers an undulating parkland course with narrow fairways, small well bunkered greens and picturesque views of Strathearn and the Grampians. TheCrieff golf club is a nine-hole course carved out from what was East Ledbowie Park and the Comrie golf club is notably one of the finest and most picturesque nine hole golf courses in Perthshire.

Horse-riding

Equestrian is a very popular sporting activity in Crieff; whether you are an experienced rider or have never sat in the saddle before, there is a riding activity for you. The Crieff Hydro has a 900-acre estate to explore with a variety of routes to suit your experience. These offer spectacular views of the surrounding Strathearn valley in the Scottish Highlands allowing you to see the River Earn from a new perspective while red deers and squirrels run alongside you.
