Fife Animal Park is one of the best value for money days out in Scotland. Situated in the beautiful Fife countryside, just 20 minutes from our holiday park, Fife Animal Park provides a wide range of exciting animals, attractions and visitor experiences. Here you can see a wide range of animals from the domestic rabbits to an impressive collection of zebra, lemurs and meerkats.
Tucked away in the heart of the Fife countryside lies a real gem of Scottish rural and environmental life. After spending a day at the fifty-five acre Scottish Deer Centre you will be surprised at the number and variety of species of deer on display. There are 14 different species of deer, each with their own individual field or paddock. Equally spectacular is the variety of birds of prey also on view at the Deer Centre.
A look back through time
The Royal Research Ship Discovery is an all weather, multi-award-winning Five-Star visitor attraction with temporary exhibitions and hands-on interactive fun. So why not explore Captain Scott's famous polar exploration ship Discovery? The attraction has state of the art audio visual and multimedia exhibitions, as well as a gift shop and cafe. Guided tours are available and there is private dining in the wardroom on board Discovery.
In a spectacular location opposite the harbour in the fishing village of Anstruther, in the East Neuk of Fife, sits the Scottish Fisheries Museum. The exhibition showcases the story of Scottish fishing from the earliest times all the way to the present. Here you can view wonderful examples of historic fishing boats and discover the untold history of the fishing industry.
Take a gentle wander
If the weather is in your favour then why not take a stroll through Ravenscraig Park? The pleasant woodland walk connects with an attractive coastal path network and an extensive outdoor play area with a bowling green. Through this walk you can also access the Ravenscraig castle and the Habour Master’s house in picturesque Dysart.
Also, just twenty minutes away is the Falkland Palace and Garden. Set in the heart of a unique medieval village, the Falkland Palace was the country residence and hunting lodge for of eight Stuart monarchs including Mary Queen of Scots. Here you can discover both the original and the reconstructed rooms, each home to elaborate paintings and antique furnishings. The Palace is also surrounded by extensive gardens, which provide a beautiful and tranquil landscape and they are also home to the oldest royal tennis court in Britain.
And for when the weather is not in your favour
Providing the perfect family day out on those dreaded wet days, Deep Sea World has over 10 exhibitions inside the aquarium, where you are sure to see a wide variety of underwater creatures from seals and sharks to piranhas and Nemos. The underwater safari also allows you an opportunity of a lifetime as you dive beneath the surface and come face-to-face with their Sand Tiger sharks, eels and stingrays.
Under 20 minutes away, the Rothes Halls boasts a vibrant programme including popular music, big name comedians, drama and dance performances. Its visual arts galleries hosts new exhibitions every six weeks and with its location adjoining the Kingdom Shopping Centre; Rothes Hall is the perfect place to soak in some culture before shopping til you drop.
