Crieff is a charming market town steeped in cattle droving and whiskey distilling history. The famous, Grouse Experience -Glenturret Distillery can be found nearby and lays claim to being one of Scotland’s oldest distilleries. As the second largest town in Perthshire, Crieff is no stranger to being a popular holiday location. Originally an ancient cattle market, Crieff has seen such famous figures as Montrose, Rob Roy Macgregor, Bonnie Prince Charlie and Robert Burns from Scotland’s colourful history walk the High Street.

A few miles from the park lies Muthill, a village in Perthshire that lies on the former railway line connecting Perth and Crieff, three miles south of Crieff. Once an important religious centre, it is the site of a Celi De monastery. The village was largely destroyed in the 1715-1716 Jacobite rising being rebuilt in the 1740s. Despite this, the village boasts rich history including over a hundred listed buildings. The kirkyard at the centre of the small town contains the ruins of an important 15th-century parish church which incorporates an 11th-century bell-tower built on the orders of the Bishop of Dunblane.

Alongside the historic towns of Crieff and Muthill lies the beautiful Comrie. Famous for its ‘White Church’ and sitting on the confluence of three rivers, Comrie is a stunning village to visit. In fact, this award-winning village has won the Royal Horticultural Society ‘Large Village Britain in Bloom Winner’ in 2007 & 2010 award. Additionally, Comrie has was presented with several other awards in the 2009 Beautiful Scotland Campaign including ‘Best Village’.

Aside from the local towns, the countryside surrounding Braidhaugh holiday park is spectacular with its rivers and the undulating landscape. Offering both tranquility and easy access to local visitors attractions, this wonderful town is not to be missed.
