From castles, national parks, to the Glengoyne Distillery, there is something for everyone, whatever their interests.

Step Back In Time

There are a wealth of castle, historical monuments and ancient sites of significance all within easy reach of Campsie Glen. Enjoy a family day out at the impressive Stirling Castle which dates back to the 12thCentury and is one of the largest, and most architecturally important castles in Scotland.

Visit the towering National Wallace Monument, Doune Castle, Stirling Old Town Jail, Holy Rude, the Beheading Stone and Cambuskenneth Abbey to name but a few.

Outdoor Adventures

No visit to Campsie Glen would be complete without visiting the jaw-droppingly beautiful Loch Lomond and Trossachs National Park. The highlands and oak woodlands here provide a sanctuary for red deer as well as numerous birds of prey.

Wander the many trails on foot or set off on two wheels to bike your way around. There are also plenty of ways to get on the water too from sightseeing boat trips to SUP’s, kayaks and fishing.

Indulge the Senses

Take a trip to Glengoyne Distillery which dates back to 1833 and is frequently described as Scotland's most beautiful distillery. Open 7 days a week, visitors can take part in Whisky Tasting Experiences, Malt Master Sessions, take a private tour and shop in their acclaimed whisky shop.

There is also an incredible array of local eateries nearby from farm shops selling freshly sourced produce to mouth-watering bakeries, deli’s, cafés and restaurants. So treat yourself to a night off from cooking before rounding things off with a wee ‘dram.

Waterfalls

The area around Campsie Glen is blessed with dramatic natural water features that are easily reached on foot or by a short drive. Campsie Glen Waterfalls themselves are perhaps the best known, tumbling down through a lush, wooded gorge carved by the Finglen Burn. It’s a rewarding walk in all seasons, with moss-covered rocks and shaded pools creating a sense of calm.

For something more adventurous, the Devil’s Pulpit in Finnich Glen is a striking sandstone chasm with rust-red waters, towering walls, and an almost mystical atmosphere, best explored with care or on a guided tour. These falls make for perfect half-day trips that connect you with the raw beauty of Scotland’s landscapes.

Rainy Day Fun

When the weather turns wet, the nearby cities of Stirling and Glasgow provide a wealth of indoor attractions. Stirling, only a short drive from the holiday park, is steeped in history. The Smith Art Gallery & Museum adds cultural depth, while the Macrobert Arts Centre offers cinema, theatre, and live performances to brighten a grey day.

A little further on, Glasgow bursts with options: the Kelvingrove Art Gallery and Museum, Riverside Museum, and vibrant shopping districts like Buchanan Street. Both cities offer cosy cafés and bustling restaurants, ensuring that even the wettest days can become memorable outings filled with history, culture, and warmth.

Hiking Trails

For lovers of the outdoors, the Campsie Fells and surrounding hills offer superb hiking opportunities right on the doorstep of the holiday park. Trails range from gentle woodland paths along the Endrick Water to more challenging ascents such as Earl’s Seat, the highest summit in the Campsie Fells, rewarding walkers with panoramic views across the central belt of Scotland.

The nearby Meikle Bin climb is another popular route, where clear days reveal sweeping vistas over Loch Carron and beyond. Whether you’re after a family-friendly stroll or a more strenuous climb, the variety of trails in the area means you can step straight into nature and discover Scotland’s rugged beauty at your own pace.
