Time to reconnect

Largo Leisure Holidays, owners of six beautiful holiday parks across Scotland, have donated 28 holidays this year in partnership with the charity Give Us Time, which supports UK military families in need. This ongoing partnership aims to provide much-needed respite breaks for families struggling with the challenges of military life.

Time to reconnect

Precious time together

The respite holidays provided by Largo Leisure are designed to help families facing various difficulties, including bereavement, financial hardship, physical or mental injuries, and the impact of long-term separation due to deployments. These breaks offer a chance for families to reconnect and enjoy quality time together away from the pressures of daily life.
In 2024, with 30,000 British troops deployed around the globe, many military families are experiencing extended periods of separation and social isolation. This can take a serious toll on the mental health and well-being of spouses, partners, and children. A recent report by the Ministry of Defence highlighted that 13% of UK Armed Forces personnel sought mental health support in the past year.

Andrew Howe, Chairman of Largo Leisure and Ambassador for Give Us Time, shared his personal connection to the charity:
“My involvement with the charity goes back many years before I joined Largo Leisure. I have seen first-hand the incredible difference they make to the lives of our brave service men and women who sacrifice so much to keep us safe. Often, these families just need time and space together to reconnect and create happy memories. The Board at Largo Leisure were eager to support the charity, and we are very proud that our parks can provide a haven for families to rehabilitate mentally, physically, and emotionally.”

Roslyn’s Family Break at Braidhaugh Holiday Park
Roslyn, her fiancé, and their 4-year-old daughter recently stayed at Braidhaugh Holiday Park in Crieff after enduring separate deployments over a 10-month period: “We were fortunate to spend five days at the lovely Braidhaugh Holiday Park, staying in a brand new 2-bedroom caravan. The park is situated on the riverbank and is close to restaurants and shops. It felt like a peaceful home away from home. We had a wonderful time exploring local beauty spots and visiting the leisure centre in Perth for swimming. We were truly humbled, not only by the generosity of receiving this holiday, but also by the staff at Braidhaugh who couldn’t have done more for us. Thank you Give Us Time, our family had an amazing experience.”
Beth’s Respite at Sauchope Links Holiday Park
Beth and her family enjoyed a much-needed break at Sauchope Links Holiday Park, near Crail:
“We had such a lovely time together, even bringing our dog along. The quality time we spent in our beautiful lodge overlooking the sea was priceless. We couldn’t believe the island we saw from the lodge was the Isle of May—named after our 2-year-old daughter! Visiting the island and exploring the local area, including St Andrews and Craigtoun Country Park, made for a memorable trip. I especially enjoyed the hot tub once May was asleep! We are so grateful for this kind gesture and will cherish these memories.”
Clair’s Experience at Braidhaugh and Loch Tay Highland Lodges
Clair and her partner stayed at Braidhaugh Holiday Park and took the opportunity to visit nearby Loch Tay Highland Lodges:
“We have never had a holiday together due to ill health, so this was the perfect respite for us. The picturesque setting at Braidhaugh was just right for our four-night stay, and the communication from the hosts was excellent. We were able to explore the stunning nature of the area and even hire a private self-drive boat on Loch Tay—a highlight of our trip. Venturing into the village of Killin to see the Falls of Dochart was unforgettable. We are so thankful to Give Us Time and the wonderful hosts for giving us and others the chance to make everlasting memories.”
