Golden Days

Following Scotland's winning start to their World Cup campaign, Scottish holiday park group Largo Leisure Holidays is reporting growing interest in summer staycations, with football fever helping fuel bookings across its parks.
To celebrate Scotland's opening victory and the excitement surrounding the tournament, Largo Leisure has temporarily renamed lodges, caravans and cabins across six Scottish holiday parks after some of the nation's biggest football stars, including match-winner John McGinn.
At Loch Tay Highland Lodges, football fans can even stay in the McGinn Lodge, named after the Scotland midfielder whose goal secured a 1-0 win over Haiti and gave Steve Clarke's side the perfect start to their World Cup journey.
The initiative comes as domestic tourism continues to grow, with VisitBritain reporting UK tourism spending increased by 11% year-on-year to £25.2bn, while recent research found more than half of Brits are planning a UK staycation rather than a trip abroad. Largo Leisure reported a 13% increase in revenue in quarter one of this year compared to the same period last year, with the positive trend continuing into the summer months.
With Tartan Army supporters buoyed by Scotland's opening win and eagerly anticipating the next group-stage fixtures, Largo Leisure says many families are choosing Scottish breaks where they can soak up the tournament atmosphere together while enjoying a summer holiday closer to home.
The park group hopes the playful initiative will help bring the buzz of Scotland's World Cup campaign to holidaymakers across the country while celebrating national pride and encouraging more people to discover Scotland's holiday destinations this summer.

Peaceful Stays

"There's a real sense of excitement across the country after Scotland's fantastic start to the World Cup."
"John McGinn's goal has given supporters plenty to celebrate and we're seeing that enthusiasm reflected in the number of people planning summer breaks here in Scotland."
"We wanted to capture that excitement in a fun and memorable way by renaming some of our accommodation after the players inspiring the nation. Whether guests stay in the McGinn Lodge or another player-themed property, it's all about getting behind the team and creating a brilliant atmosphere across our parks this summer."
Each park has been decorated with Scotland flags, bunting and football-themed displays, while families can take part in a range of football-inspired activities including quizzes, colouring competitions, word searches and the chance for children to design their own Scotland football kit.
The player-themed accommodation is available to book throughout the tournament as Scotland fans continue to cheer on Steve Clarke's side in their bid for World Cup success.
