Renowned Scottish chef patron Dean Banks brought his culinary flair to Loch Tay Highland Lodges last week as part of Largo Leisure Holiday’s Carry on Cooking campaign.

The initiative, launched earlier this year, aims to inspire holidaymakers to make the most of their self-catering stays with easy, delicious, and family-friendly recipes. Dean, who owns six restaurants across Scotland and was a finalist on BBC One’s Professional MasterChef, showcased how quickly and simply impressive meals can be created in a holiday lodge kitchen.

During the day, Dean cooked a supermarket-sourced dish of Harissa lamb, minted potatoes, and Greek salad in under 40 minutes before moving on to demonstrate his luxury “Haar at Home” meal kits. Guests watched as he created a restaurant-quality three-course menu featuring dressed crab, native lobster, and dry-aged beef sirloin, followed by his newest launch—the indulgent Seafood Boil Kit. Packed with fresh seafood, smoked sausage, vegetables, and rich spiced butter, the kit even comes with tableware and tools for an authentic experience. The Loch Tay Highland Lodges team joined Dean to enjoy the feast, with one guest calling it “the best day at work ever.”

The event was filmed for a series of tutorials and top tips that will appear on Largo Leisure’s social channels. Dean shared advice on cooking with limited equipment such as firepits and two-ring hobs, as well as quick desserts like Banoffee Pie, all aimed at showing how self-catering can be fun, affordable, and delicious. Rachel Mabbs, Largo Leisure’s Commercial Director, praised the collaboration, highlighting how it encourages guests to skip expensive takeaways and instead enjoy fresh, homemade meals on holiday. Keep an eye out for a digital recipe book launch later this year.

Excellent lodge accommodation, where we enjoyed a fabulous family break.

Staff were very friendly, and kids loved using the hot tub. Dog friendly too.
