Pods & Domes: All the Comforts of Home, None of the Faff

Think of our pods and domes as your home-from-home under the stars. Heated, insulated, and made up with proper beds, they let you savour the fresh Scottish air and drift off to the sound of the loch or the sea — some even with a wood-fired hot tub waiting outside the door for a soak beneath that twinkling sky.

Pack for a pod or dome stay:

  • Bedding or a sleeping bag (check your booking — this varies by pod)
  • Warm layers for the evening; Scottish nights turn crisp even in summer
  • Torch or lantern for the walk to the shower block
  • Swimwear, if your pod has a wood-fired hot tub
  • Dog bed and bowls, if your four-legged family member is joining — several pods are pet-friendly!

Pitching Your Own Tent at Cruachan Farm

For the real thing, Cruachan Farm's grass pitches sit a short stroll from the shores of Loch Tay, wrapped in Highland scenery and rural tranquillity — plus the on-site Cruachan Café for a breakfast roll once the tent's up. It's proper, back-to-nature camping, so the kit list runs a little longer.

Pack for a tent pitch:

  • Tent, groundsheet, mallet and pegs
  • Sleeping bags and sleeping mats
  • Camping stove, gas, and basic cook kit
  • Waterproofs and sturdy footwear
  • A torch and a battery pack — there's no mains power at your pitch
