Step back in time

There are a wealth of castle, historical monuments and ancient sites of significance all within easy reach of Campsie Glen. Enjoy a family day out at the impressive Stirling Castle which dates back to the 12th Century and is one of the largest, and most architecturally important castles in Scotland.

Visit the towering National Wallace Monument, Doune Castle, Stirling Old Town Jail, Holy Rude, the Beheading Stone and Cambuskenneth Abbey to name but a few.

Outdoor Adventures

No visit to Campsie Glen would be complete without visiting the jaw-droppingly beautiful Loch Lomond and Trossachs National Park. The highlands and oak woodlands here provide a sanctuary for red deer as well as numerous birds of prey.

Wander the many trails on foot or set off on two wheels to bike your way around. There are also plenty of ways to get on the water too from sightseeing boat trips to SUP’s, kayaks and fishing.

 

Indulge the Senses

Take a trip to Glengoyne Distillery which dates back to 1833 and is frequently described as Scotlan’ds most beautiful distillery. Open 7 days a week, visitors can take part in Whisky Tasting Experiences, Malt Master Sessions, take a private tour and shop in their acclaimed whisky shop.

There is also an incredible array of local eateries nearby from farm shops selling freshly sourced produce to mouth-watering bakeries, deli’s, cafes and restaurants. So treat yourself to a night off from cooking before rounding things off with a wee ‘dram.
